Where Should I Go – On The Road To Lost 2016

Where should Lost Americana go in 2016?

road to lost americana

In 20 years there are very few states I have not traveled looking for abandoned barns and towns on the verge of disappearing.

So as the 2016 driving season starts to pick up for me I’m putting this out there to the Internet; where should Lost American explore next?

Do you know of any rural farm towns hit hard by population decline? Have you lived there since at least the 1970s? Want to tell your story? Get in touch via the website, message me through the Facebook page, or direct message me on Twitter, or Instagram.

Please share this with people you know who have lived in these towns for decades. I want to hear their stories.

I never know when the next time I’ll make it to one of these states are, so don’t wait (it took me 18 years to get back to Colorado).

Here’s a list of states I will most likely be driving through in 2016 (usually starting from Chicago).

Iowa (specifically eastern Iowa)
Nebraska
Wyoming
Missouri
Arkansas
Texas (central & eastern)
Indiana
Wisconsin
Michigan (lower)

Here’s some places I might be close enough to to consider a stop in
Western Kentucky & Tennessee
Oklahoma
Kansas
Montana
Idaho
South Dakota
Louisiana
Texas (western & pan handle)
Ohio
Oregon, or Washington if you really twist my arm.
